Required Documents  to Apply for the GRADUATE Program

To apply for the Work-study Program, please send the following materials to HTIR Program Office at 3740 University Street, Eugene, Oregon  97405 U.S.A. 541-484-0581.  Please contact us if you would rather send your application directly to Coleman University.

1.       APPLICATION FORMS: Completed and signed Application Form and Enrollment Form   Please make sure all information is written so it is legible.  This will enable the information to be correct on the I-20.  This is not an on-line app, and thus must be printed and sent to us. 

2.      COPY OF PASSPORT: (If you have your passport now.  Otherwise, send a copy as soon as you receive the passport)

3      FINANCIAL SUPPORT:  You must have, either,

      (a) A copy of your own current Bank Statement in US dollars that amounts to at least $16,000, or,

      (b) A copy of your sponsor's bank statement that amounts to at least $16,000.   If using a sponsor's bank   statement, he/she also needs to provide a letter of support states that, “I am the sponsor for _________ and I intend to provide him/her with financial assistance during his/her first year at Coleman University, up the amount of $______”.  

4.     CURRENCY CONVERSION: Please note that if your (or your sponsor's) bank statement is not in US dollars you will need to get the conversion into US dollars by doing the conversion on the internet..  Just print the page showing the conversion information and include it with your bank statement. www.currency-eexchange.co.uk/Currency-Converter.htm

5.     TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION. The recommendation letters may come from a professor or your employer or from a co-worker.   The letters should provide an assessment of the applicant's ability to successfully complete graduate studies and succeed in an employment situation.    

6.     RESUME.   Your resume needs to include your personal information (name, address, and date of birth), work history, educational history, any research or publications in your field, any honors or awards received, and any organizations that you belong to.    

7.     EVIDENCE OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY.   Sufficient evidence may be a TOEFL score of 500 or more (213 computer base), or, an IELTS score of 6.0, or, evidence that you have studied at least one year in a university where English was the medium of instruction.   

8.     EVIDENCE OF A BACHELOR DEGREE.  Copies of your Certificate/diploma/proof of Bachelor's degree.  If the document was awarded in an language other than English, an English translation must also be submitted. A bachelor degree in any major may qualify an applicant for admission to the program.  However, for those candidates applying for the MSISM who have limited computer or IT background additional prerequisite courses will be required.

The minimum requirement for admission to the MSISM graduate program is:
 A bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science from an accredited institution, or      

 A bachelor's degree in any discipline and two years experience in the computer field, or

A bachelor's degree in any discipline and completion of the undergraduate core program in any of the information technology disciplines at Coleman University, and

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the bachelor's level is required but may be waived by the Admissions Committee in consideration of special circumstances.

The minimum requirement for admission to the MBA graduate programs is:

A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field from an accredited institution, or      

 A bachelor's degree in any discipline and two years experience in the business field, or

A bachelor's degree in any discipline and completion of the undergraduate core program in any of the disciplines at Coleman University, and

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the bachelor's level is required but may be waived by the Admissions Committee in consideration of special circumstances.

Those students who don't  meet the above requirements will be required to take a pre-requisite course that will cover essential topics needed to comprehend the CORE subject material. This will be a five unit course billed at the normal current tuition rate. This course will be part of the MSIT degree requirement, but will be waved for students who satisfactorily meet or exceed the above criteria

9.    TRANSCRIPTS: You will need to submit official transcripts in original language as well as an English translation.  Transcripts need to show every year that you studied at the University level.  It is important that the transcripts show all subjects taken and all grades or marks earned for each subject.  It also is very helpful if the grading system of the University is shown on each record. You will need to show you have the equivalent of a 2.50 GPA or greater.  These Transcripts need to be original or attested transcripts and need to be sent from your university directly to Coleman University.

10. SPOUSE AND DEPENDENTS.  If you plan to bring your spouse and/or children you will need to provide copies of their passports, along with a letter giving the following details for each family member you plan on bringing with you: full name, date of birth, country of birth, and country of citizenship.  You also need to show an increase in the bank statement of $6,000 per family member that you are planning to bring with you. 

11. IN THE US: If you are already in the US you will also need the following additional documents:     If you are currently enrolled at a US University or University, a completed transfer form, copies of visa, passport, I-94 and I-20 (if applicable) and foreign address (home country)
