Program
Students in the Computer Information Systems
program learn the fundamentals of network design and administration,
systems analysis, application (solution) design, web site development,
and e-commerce concepts required to begin a career in the Information
Technology (IT) industry. Students program in various languages and
apply networking concepts using a myriad of personal computers networked
to mini, mid-range, and mainframe computers. Upon completion of the Core
program, students will have designed programming and networking
solutions in several languages on many popular platforms, install and
configure various operating systems, and possess an understanding of
computer hardware, software, and network principles with an emphasis in
application (solution) development.
Associate of Science Degree
This program is designed to meet the needs of
those students who are interested in entering the Information Technology
field. The student's education covers the use and application of
computers, mathematics, oral and written communication, and other
general education subjects.
Bachelor of Science Degree
The incredibly frequent and rapid changes in
today’s business and technology require people who can think and express
themselves clearly. The general education component of the degree
program is designed to develop those skills and an awareness of the
individuals responsibility in society.
Modern management control is dependent upon an
organizations effective use of computer systems. Based on this premise,
the emphasis in the Computer Information Science major is on business
applications of the computer. The curriculum provides the student with
in-depth expertise in the most popular of computer languages, knowledge
of accounting techniques, systems analysis and design, as well
operations management of computer installation
