Shawn Schwaner earned his Bachelor’s Degree in
Sociology/Anthropology at
Denison
University and his
Doctorate in Sociology at The Ohio State
University in 1995.
Shawn has earned several significant
teaching awards for his student-centered and
innovative approach to teaching.
He has also had an extensive career in community
building initiatives.
Shawn Schwaner has designed, launched,
and implemented significant economic development
and crime reduction programs in
Columbus, Ohio and
Louisville,
Kentucky.
In 1999, he earned the Distinguished
Citizen’s Award for the creation of the
Operation Restore Program in joint effort with
the Louisville Police Department.
After earning tenure at the University of Louisville,
Shawn left to pursue his aspiration as a
financial consultant and business development
specialist.
Specializing in portfolio construction,
succession planning, and business consulting he
was ranked as a top producer at Metlife in the
Kentucky,
Indiana, and Ohio region.
He continues to provide ad-hoc and pro
bono guidance to investors.
Shawn Schwaner is a highly sought professional
speaker.
He has provided inspirational and
motivational engagements for churches and
schools, extensive seminar and training
development for local, regional, and national
agencies, and continues to provide professional
coaching.
Finally, Shawn arrived at Sullivan University
as the Director of Corporate Development.
In his career, he has specialized in
strategic planning, corporate relationship
building, community outreach, and various
activities pertaining to public relations.
Currently, Shawn is the Director of
Sullivan University’s HTIR Program for
international co-op students, business
development specialist, Prior Learning
Assessment Review Team, and faculty member in
the
Sullivan
Business
School
as well as in Justice and Public Safety.
