Required Documents to Apply for the Work-Study Program

 To apply for the UAT Co-op Program, please send the following materials to HTIR Work-Study USA Office at 3740 University Street, Eugene, Oregon  97405 U.S.A.  Please note that in some countries applicants will need to go through an HTIR partnered agency, which will be responsible for all preparatory details, pre-screening and visa advising.  The University will make all decisions regarding admissions and issuing of the I-20 form..    Important note:  Please do email us if you have not heard from us two weeks after submitting your application.  Also, due to many server's strict spam policies, to insure our emails reach you, please do put admission@htir.com  and coopadmin@htir.com in your address book.

Copy of Passport

 Financial Support

 You must have, either have, (a) a copy of your own current band statement in US dollars or conversion into US dollars that amounts to at least $20,000 or (b) a copy of your sponsors bank statement which amounts to more than $20,000, along with a letter from the sponsor stating "I am the sponsor for ____________ and I intend to provide him/her with financial assistance during his/her first year at UAT, for the amount of $__________. "

 

Bank Statement Conversion into US dollars

 Please note that if your (or your sponsor's) bank statement is not in US dollars you will need to get the conversion into US dollars by doing the conversion on the internet.   Just print the page showing the conversion information and include it with your bank statement. www.currency-eexchange.co.uk/Currency-Converter.htm

 

Resume

Your resume needs to include your personal information (name, address, email, and date of birth), work history, skills, educational history, any research or publications in your field, any honors or awards received, and any organizations to which you belong. 

 

English Requirements for Admission

In addition to the standard admission requirements, non-US citizens applying for admission to this program must provide the following:

Letter from University indicating English was the medium of instruction, or

· Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score

o    550 or higher on paper-based test

o    79 or higher on Internet-based test

o    213 or higher on computer-based test

· International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

o    Score of 6.0

· Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

o    Score of 760

 

Bachelor Degree

 Copies of your Certificate/diploma/proof of Bachelor's degree. If the document was awarded in a language other than English, an English translation must also be submitted. A bachelor degree in any major may qualify an applicant for admission to the program.   UAT requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 basis, at a regionally accredited university or its international equivalent at the bachelor's level is required but may be waived by the Admissions Committee in consideration of special circumstances.

 

Transcripts:  

You will need to submit official transcripts in original language as well as an English translation.  Transcripts need to show every year that you studied at the university level.  It is important that the transcripts show all subjects taken and all grades or marks earned for each subject.  It also is very helpful if the grading system of the university is shown on each record. UAT requires you to show you have the equivalent of a 2.75 or greater GPA.  

 

Spouse and Dependents

 If you plan to bring your spouse and/or children you will need to provide copies of their passports, marriage certificate (for spouse) along with a letter giving the following details for each family member you plan on bringing with you: full name, date of birth, country of birth, and country of citizenship.  You also need to show an increase in the bank statement of $6,000 per family member that you are planning to bring with you

 

If you are in the U.S.A:

 If you are already in the US you will also need the following additional documents:    

  1. A completed transfer form and copy of I-20 (if you are currently on an F visa)

   2. Copy of visa

   3. Passport

   4. I-94

   5. Foreign address (home country)
