Parents and
Families Resource
Center
We are very excited about our Parent and Family Resource
Center. We are currently working on this page and hope to have it up
and running soon.
What exactly will we have here?
Good question!
This will be a
page for parents, families or sponsors of students to go in order to find the
information they need to be satisfied as to whether this is
the best program for their child. I know if I was to
send my daughter or son overseas I would need to have a lot
of questions answered before I could make the decision of
whether to give my child the blessing (or sponsor money :-)
to go to a foreign country. My children are my life.
Here is an example of what is to come:
1) We are aware
that many parents might not speak English. We are in
the process of having the information in the parent resource
center translated into 20
different languages. In the meantime, I invite you to
use
Google's translation tool.
2) We will
provide details about where our interns are working,
including links to the company websites so you as a parent can
see that your child will be working in a reputable company.
Here is a sample of where
HTIR interns
have worked in the past.
3) We will
provide all of HTIR and the universities' licenses,
accreditations and associations. We want you to feel
confident that our company and the schools we work with are
reputable and legitimate. In the meantime, the
accreditations are available under each
participating school's website.
4) We will
provide as much information as we can about US culture
including safety in the US.
5) We will give
details about the cities where our schools are located.
This information will include ethnic groups, churches,
temples, clubs, organizations, etc. We want you to
know there will be support for your child.
6) We will be
providing bio's of all the HTIR staff as well as the school
officials who will be working with your child directly.
We want you to feel confident that your child is in good
care. We do currently have a few of the
HTIR staff
bios available
7) We now have
student stories and testimonials. These stories are
from current HTIR interns telling you about their
experiences in the US. We hope to have many more stories
available in the near future
8) We have contact information for
HTIR staff and School staff
so you will always know how to get a hold of someone if you
need to have a question answered. Especially after
your child has arrived into the US. This can be a
scary time for parents and family.
I look forward to
your comments, as well as if you would like us to provide
other information. If, in the meantime you have any
questions please
email anytime! Nancy
